Sammy Van den Heuvel — scenography

Each space grows within a specific frame that is shaped through dialogue; with the director, with the choreographer, with the text, the music, the materials, with the dramaturg, with the production team, with the artists and builders in the workshops, with the stage technicians. Ultimately, the built space engages in a dialogue with the performers, and, through them, in a conversation with the audience.

Theresia Walser titles her bitterly angry comedy with a cynical quote from the musing Libyan despot Muammar al-Gaddafi.

Three wives of former heads of state — Mrs. Margot, Mrs. Imelda, and Mrs. Leila — are convinced that their negative image must be based on a misunderstanding. They also believe that the people's desire for freedom is completely overrated. The three women meet during a press conference to promote the planned film adaptation of their lives. With the slightest misunderstandings, an interpreter triggers political upheavals between them.
