Sammy Van den Heuvel — scenography

Each space grows within a specific frame that is formed through conversations; with the director, with the choreographer, with the text, the music, the material, with the dramaturg, with the production team, with the artists and builders in the workshops, with the stage technicians. Ultimately, the built space engages in a conversation with the performers, and, through them, in a conversation with the audience.

Solitude

A young man leaves the Italian village he grew up in to make a new start in Brazil. On Facebook, his friends back home follow how he makes new friends, attends exciting parties, swims at impressive beaches, and becomes a successful entrepreneur. His posts convey the image of a life that many young Western Europeans dream about. Ten years later, however, his childhood friends discover that he has never left his village or his parents' house.

The phenomenon of isolation and its consequences for both the isolated individual and those who were once close to them were examined in a creative process in which the artistic team also became the performers.
