Sammy Van den Heuvel — scenography

Each space grows within a specific frame that is formed through conversations; with the director, with the choreographer, with the text, the music, the material, with the dramaturg, with the production team, with the artists and builders in the workshops, with the stage technicians. Ultimately, the built space engages in a conversation with the performers, and, through them, in a conversation with the audience.

Totentanz

August Strindberg explores the complexity of love and resentment that can coexist in human relationships.

Living in an old prison on an isolated island, Edgar, a captain in the coast artillery, and his wife, Alice, endure a life filled with unhappiness and emotional tyranny. The arrival of Curt, Alice’s cousin, introduces tension and potential shifts in their stagnant lives, particularly when Edgar falls ill. As they navigate their fraught relationships, the struggle for dominance and control becomes increasingly evident, culminating in Edgar's death.
